This morning on The Mike Calta Show, Galvin talked about how Linkin Park is having a hard time selling tickets. Their big September show at Dodger Stadium got moved to the much smaller Intuit Dome, dropping from 56,000 seats to just 18,000. Queens of the Stone Age also dropped off the lineup, adding to the change. To help fill seats, Linkin Park is now offering $40 tickets with randomly assigned seats. On top of that, they’ve canceled shows in Rio de Janeiro and Porto Alegre, Brazil.
The show also brought up bands that actually got better after switching singers. Mike and Galvin mentioned Van Halen with Sammy Hagar and AC/DC with Brian Johnson. Everyone agreed that replacing a lead singer is damn near impossible, and swapping a guy for a woman never works. If Linkin Park wants to keep touring, they should just find someone who sounds like Chester Bennington.
