USF Football Announces Staff Additions and Promotions

TAMPA, FLA., MARCH 6, 2025 – University of South Florida Football Head Coach Alex Golesh has announced several staff additions and promotions as he enters his third season at the helm of the Bulls.

Golesh named Brad Wilson to the role of defensive assistant where he will work with defensive coordinator Todd Orlando and the Bulls’ defensive coaches. Wilson comes to USF after serving as assistant head coach/defensive coordinator at Indiana State. He served as the Sycamore’s defensive coordinator from 2017-24 and was previously defensive coordinator at Wayne State from 2012-16.

The Bulls added five assistant position coaches to the staff.

On the offensive side of the ball, Hayden Kingston was named assistant quarterbacks coach, Parker Ball assistant offensive line coach, and Justin Stolberg assistant tight ends coach. Kingston comes to USF after four seasons on the staff at Utah State. Ball played on the offensive line at Tennessee and served on the Vols staff as a graduate assistant last year. Stolberg played quarterback at Mississippi State and comes to USF after serving as a defensive analyst at South Alabama last year and previously serving as co-offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach at Butler Community College, where he also played during his collegiate career.

The Bulls also added Jordan Helm as nickels coach/assistant defensive backs coach. Helm comes to USF from FAU where he played safety and served on the coaching staff since 2022, last serving as assistant inside linebackers coach.

Golesh promoted three current staff members. Ephi Levy was promoted to director of player personnel/high school relations, adding the high school relations duties to the job title he has held for two years. Dave Gotsch, a former US Army infantryman, was promoted from a student assistant last season to assistant special teams coach, and Kyle Fahey was promoted from a graduate assistant in scouting to offensive scouting coordinator.

The Bulls also added two new staff members to the recruiting department, naming Keyton Kinley as assistant director of on-campus recruiting and Arielle Friedman as on-campus recruiting assistant. Kinley, a former Oklahoma volleyball player, comes to USF after working in recruiting at Tennessee and serving as assistant director of on-campus recruiting at Kentucky. Friedman also comes to USF from Tennessee where she worked in development, having also previously worked as a recruiting assistant at Florida State.

ABOUT USF FOOTBALL

The USF football program first took the field in 1997 and completed its 28th season in 2024 with its second-straight bowl victory in the Hawai’i Bowl. Head coach Alex Golesh posted a program-best six-game turnaround and a Boca Raton Bowl victory in his first season in 2023. USF completed construction on a new $22 million Indoor Performance Facility in 2023 and a $340-million on-campus stadium and football operations center broke ground in the fall of 2024 and is slated for completion by 2027. The Bulls have posted 17 winning seasons, earned 16 All-America selections (including two consensus selections, the last coming in 2021), as well as 33 first-team all-conference honorees. USF has had 30 players selected in the NFL Draft and the Bulls have made 12 bowl game appearances (going 8-4), posting a program-record six straight appearances from 2005-2010 and making four straight bowl appearances from 2015-18. USF posted back-to-back 10-win seasons in 2016 and 2017, logging a program-record 11-2 mark in 2016, while finishing both seasons ranked in the Top 25. USF spent a program-record 20 straight weeks ranked in the Top 25 during the 2016 and 2017 campaigns and reached as high as No. 2 in the Associated Press rankings during the 2007 season.
